Marco Island is the largest of a 10,000 island aquatic preserve and an official sanctuary of the Bald Eagle. Its location on the Gulf of Mexico, near Everglades National Park, makes it one of the most abundant nature areas in the world. It is surrounded by enormous expanses of a unique ecosystem and is home to exceptional wildlife and vegetation. It is a vacation paradise; beautiful beaches, marvellous shopping and delicious dining. More than 80 restaurants in the area offer diversified cuisine. Many spotlight Florida's freshest, finest seafood 'straight from the docks' - jumbo shrimp, sweet scallops, succulent crabs and, of course, great grouper!
Whilst staying on Marco Island enjoy fishing from the waterways, river or sea. Rent a boat or canoe and explore uninhabited islands, or tee off at one of the many golf courses. There is also tennis, parasailing, cycle hire, crazy golf or just lazing on the beautiful white sandy beach. There are two public accesses to the beach. Tigertail beach is fully equipped with a volley ball area, beach sport, chair and umbrella rentals, restrooms, play area and cafe. South beach is at the southern most tip of Marco Island where the resort hotels are located.
